About the Texas Nurses District 9 Foundation

The Texas Nurses District 9 Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the nursing profession through education, recognition, and charitable giving in the Greater Houston area.

Our Purpose

The Foundation’s mission is to:

Provide scholarships to nursing students in the District 9 area.

Offer research awards (grants) to registered nurses within District 9.

Host educational programs for professional growth and community engagement.

Solicit donations to fund these scholarships, grants, and programs.

Nursing Celebration – Honoring Houston’s Finest

Nursing Celebration is our signature annual awards gala that recognizes 20 Outstanding Nurses from the Houston area.

Event Highlights:

2025 marked the 33rd year of this inspiring event.

The event typically welcomes between 250 and 600 guests.

All proceeds support our Scholarship and Research Grant Award Program.

In addition to honoring nurses, the event raises critical funds to:

Support student nurses in the Houston area.

Provide research grants to practicing nurses in our community.
