The Texas Nurses Association District 9 Foundation is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Outstanding Nurse Awards, recognizing exceptional nurses whose compassion, leadership, clinical excellence, and dedication have made a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, families, colleagues, and communities across the Greater Houston-Galveston region.
Each year, the Foundation honors nurses who exemplify the highest standards of the profession and whose commitment to excellence continues to elevate healthcare throughout the 11 counties served by Texas Nurses Association District 9.
Nurses in all practice settings and specialties are encouraged to be nominated, including those working in hospitals, clinics, schools, long-term care facilities, public health, education, research, military service, hospice, home health, and community-based organizations.
Outstanding Nurse Honorees will be recognized during the 34th Annual Nursing Celebration on Friday, November 13, at the Bayou City Event Center, where the Foundation will celebrate the accomplishments of nursing professionals from across the Greater Houston-Galveston area.
The Foundation invites healthcare organizations, nursing leaders, coworkers, patients, and community members to help shine a spotlight on the remarkable nurses whose dedication deserves recognition. A nomination is an opportunity to celebrate the everyday heroes who deliver compassionate care, demonstrate clinical excellence, and lead with integrity.
