Welcome to Texas Nurses Association District 9
“To promote excellence in nursing through education, advocacy and nurturing for nurses to achieve quality patient care, full professional potential and career satisfaction.”
Welcome to the Texas Nurses Association District 9 (TNA D9) website. We serve nurses through a network of ENGAGED professionals who are committed to transforming health—not only for our patients, their families, and our communities, but for nurses in all practice settings. TNA D9 provides opportunities to empower Texas Nurses to advance the profession based on the values of respect, integrity, diversity, and courage.
TNA D9 is a district of the state’s Texas Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association. TNA D9 functions at the local level by working for the improvement of health standards and the availability of health care services for all people, fostering the high standards of nursing, stimulating and promoting the professional development of nurses, and advancing their economic and general welfare.
TNA D9 provides opportunities for nurses to belong to a large network that promotes excellence in nursing from bedside to administration, consulting to advanced practice, and education to legislation — and all practice settings, including hospital, home and community health, public health, higher education, long-term care, school health and policy. The benefits of membership include resources for continuing education, practice protection, toolkits, and support for practice issues and career development.
By sharing your voice through TNA D9 and TNA, you contribute to policy development and legislative initiatives. During this 2023 legislative session, get your voice heard regarding advanced practice authority, workplace safety, nursing education, maternal care, mental health care, etc.
If you are a member of TNA D9, thank you for your contributions to the profession and this organization for nurses. If you are not yet a member, please consider joining us. We need your voice and your talents. Let’s engage and serve together to keep nursing the best profession in healthcare.
