Recognition, Management & Evidence Based Practice Across the Continuum of Care
This program will explain the malnutrition-obesity paradox and how it impacts hospital admission. The presenter will describe the unique challenges obese surgical and critically ill patients pose, in addition to common myths regarding nutrition care of the obese patient and the concept of prehabilitation. Through case studies, attendees will learn how to develop nutrition care plans for the critically ill obese patient and obese surgical patient using evidence based practices that span the continuum of care.
