HoustonNursesTogether – Free CNE Event

HoustonNursesTogether is sponsoring their final event for the Year of the Nurse 2020. This VIRTUAL event is free of charge, and open to the public (e.g. particularly disciplines that need CEUs for licensure). The clincher is that Continuing Nursing Education Credits (1.5 CNE) will be awarded. All nurses need continuing education for licensure renewal. Additionally, with the uptick in the number of positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in our area, the relevance of this event is right on target and timely. Please see flyer for registration details.

Jurisprudence and Ethics for Nurses

The presentation, Jurisprudence and Ethics for Nurses, addresses key components of the Texas Nursing Practice Act and ethical practice by applying the rules and regulations to real nursing situations.

The program explores the relationships among administrative, civil, and criminal branches of state law, including the consequences of decisions by each branch.

Case studies examine the nurse’s responsibilities in the Nurse:Patient Relationship and professional boundaries.  The presentation covers recent legislative updates, including continuing education requirements for licensure renewal, nursing peer review, and safe harbor protections.
